About the Team
Aiken Racing was born in 1995 when Marshall Aiken, Porter’s father decided he had a passion for going fast and building and designing vehicles to go faster and faster around a tracK. This journey has grown through the years since then to BECOME a multi generation family effort. With grandfather, father, and son all working together as a team to accomplish victory. Marshall Aiken created a winning team that captured the national championship title in Pro F2000 in 2005 which led to an ever burning desire to go out and bring home as many victories as possible.
Porter got his start in racing with indoor karting at Andrettis where he was coached by Pat Wilmot and Tyler Hoffman developing the core skills necessary to further progress his racing career. In 2011 Porter started outdoor karting with Ocala Gran Prix racing in the Florida winter tour, Florida Karting Championship Series, Ocala Gran Prix series, and the Rotax nationals.
After a 5 year break from racing Porter started back as a karting mechanic managing the Atlanta Motorsports Park karting program and serving as the North American Praga Kart Representative. He then started the Aiken Racing Karting Team where he helped develop the skills of many new Karting drivers. During 2019 Porter met a great friend who happened to be a paraplegic karting driver who was looking to become more independent and competitive at the track. They would start the brand Race Bionics and create a system which allow them and 2 other handicap drivers to compete and finish in a SimCraft 24 hour Karting race 2 years in a row.
Porter then moved into car racing for the very first time with his father, grandfather and uncle with their home built e36 race car. After this first race Porter was about to secure a title sponsor with Chillout Systems where him and the team went to dominate in World Racing League with their Chillout Systems Mini Miata winning the national championship, western championship and the first ever 24 hours of Sebring.
In 2022 Porter will be competing in several different races including the World Racing League championship with the Chillout Systems Monster Miata and the Aiken Racing Monster E36 M3. He will also be competing in the Formula Race Promotions F1600 Pro racing series with his 2008 Piper F1600 car that hIS GRANDFATHER, FATHER AND HIM built together. At the end of 2022 Porter will be competing at the SCCA Runoffs in Virginia with help of his father and grandfather with the hopes of bringing home the title of runoffs champion!
I WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE THAT HAS HELPED ME ACCOMPLISHED EVERYTHING I ALREADY HAVE IN MY RACING CAREER. WITHOUT THE HELP OF EVERY SINGLE PERSON INVOLVED WE WOULDN’T BE WHERE WE ARE TODAY.
